Pitman Arm

Is a pitman arm keyed so it only goes onto the steering shaft in 1 position, or do I have to find relative center of steering range and then put it on?

I have normal clearance between inner tie rod on passenger side and idler arm, but super super close tie rod/pitman arm on drivers side. Ive chcked the tie rods, ordered 2 from 2 diff places, its not them.
The center link is my next choice of things to check out. I have a new one, but they look almost identical.

Car has 1" lowering springs and the shelby mod done. Would these mods require me to get or not get a certain type of pitman arm? I might have the "quick ratio" pitman arm on the car, which I understand is a bit longer. Maybe I need to go back to the stock unit?

The pitman arm is near 1 side of the bend on the inner TR, but ont eh other side its right int he middle of the bend where it should be. It looks like the bend or pitman arm/center link connection point is in the wrong place.

Thanks

It's keyed but not with a keyway. It has a tooth left out of the splines so it only goes on one way.

I have seen them installed where they were off because some idiot had hammered it on then slapped it tight with an impact after hammering it on.... The keway like said above is a double flat tooth...

WAIT!!!!! The '66 I did in England a few years ago had the keyways yes, BUT! They were a tri keyway and you could install it into any of 3 positions.... Each position divided a circle by 1/3rd. Your's probably is NOT put on incorrectly because in the other 2 positions it is IMpossible to hook up the steering linkage...
