Staggered rear shocks

Does anyone know/have pictures of the differences from the standard shock mounting setup and a staggered setup? Obviously the shock plates are different so that one will sit behind the axle, but I'm wondering about the top mountings - do they both mount in the standard locations? Seems unlikely.. so where does the 'non-standard' shock mount at the top?
Thanks,
Rob

Staggered rear shocks

The stock staggered setup is different. The factory used a totally different upper shock mount that was welded into the body on 4 speed cars. Automatic cars didn't get the staggered shock setup.

Staggered rear shocks

My car is a Cobra Jet powered four speed. It has staggered shocks too. At the upper end, to replace you simply remove the little hatch to access the upper end for unbolting. The little shiney hatch is in same location as for an auto trans equipped car. The mounting down by the axle as you already know is different, but from inside the trunk at first blink cannot tell the difference.

And, contrairy. Not all four speed cars came with the staggered shocks. Only the big engined ones. You could get a four speed with a 302 or 351 but the owner got the shocks in the standard arrangement then.
