Manual brakes?

I am currently in the process of building a 408 for my '70 Mach 1. I was told I may want to consider converting to manual brakes because of vacuum issues. I have the original discs on front and explorer discs on the rear. I may put aftermarket discs on the front later. Any thoughts?

What about hydroboost? Are you going to be running a power steering pump?

I'm open to all suggestions. I really would rather have power brakes I think. I do have power steering factory Ford style.

Older '70's Lincolns used hydroboost, along with many '90's-'00's Mustangs with a V8.

I run manual brakes and am fine with them, just push a little harder.

Personally I prefer manuals brakes now. They take up less room, less parts to go wrong, less weight and they work even if the engine isn't running. And they feel the same, either way.

Well, I guess a Mustang is a little lighter than my Montego, so power for mine is necessary.

Manual brakes arent that bad, But is your 408 gonna be that wild? I'm sure even if it has a lumpy cam, its nothing a simple 20 dollar vacuum canister couldnt solve.
