68 5.0 swap pulley question?

Currently on my 5.0 swap, the only pullies I will be using is the crank, alternator, and water pump. Should I also buy the smog pump and A/C delete pullies and use the stock belt? or is there a way to bypass all of that and use a shorter belt. If so what is reccomended? Also should I use stock pullies or underdrive? I am thinking with no A/C, no power steering, and no smog there is no use for the under drive pullies, but then again I am learning as I go.

Thanks

Short belt - 72.6" IIRC...screw the expensive/ugly idlers. Underdrives are evil IMO, they WILL spin the alt and waterpump too slow, more trouble than it's worth and there are better ways to get 10hp anyway.

I run an under drive on a similar set up, my volt meter reads 14.2 volts at idle and my temp has yet to hit 198 degrees. March pulleys short serpentine belt.

So I do not need any of the delete kits. Just use the water pump pulley, alternator pulley, and crank pulley and the Short belt - 72.6" IIRC?

No deletes, but then that is your option.

68 5.0 swap pulley question?

what water pump are you using? I am using the 1990 5.0 water pump which rotates counter clockwise. I just found this and I think it will help me http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...ps/index.shtml

I have searched before and must have over looked it.

Thanks for the help, now only if I can get everything to look as good as yours
