Pretty sure stock is 5/16" as that is what I have in mine. The next step up would be 3/8". Which I'll be upgrading to soon. 3/8" from tank to pump and -6 AN (3/8") from pump to carb.

Really, about the only reason to go to a larger diameter fuel line is because your big engine is sucking in so much of the valuable fluid. There are a lot of 300-400 H.P. engines out there doing just fine with a 5/16ths line. Think of H.P. and fuel line diameter in same frame of mind.

Hey Coosbaylumber

My engine is being rebuilt very slowly unfortunatly. However, being a newie at all of this great rebuilding stuff.

QUESTIONS PLEASE:

Is a know fact that I better off not upgrading my fuel line to:
3/8's ?????

Also, would you recomm. me putting an electric fuel pump at the back of my fuel line near the tank ?

Thanks guy
GOD BLESS

If running a mech pump and it works fine, stay with it. If you go to the bigger fuel line also get a new pickup due to age.

As stated above if you up grade your fuel line as stated standard is 5/16 you also need to upgrade the pick up as this will still be 5/16. A lot of people forget about this.

I believe the 67 pick-up is 3/8". There's an article here about modifying the pick-up.

Here's the link:

If you install a standard electric fuel pump near to tank, it will easily push the required fuel forward. Was standard practice for customers complaining of vapor lock in the Palm Springs area.

Just installing the second pump will increase the GPM about by 1/2 over present. But,.... if feasible, do not set the electric pressure above that of the mechanical, or it will flood your carburetor. That back electric pump will push the valuable fluid right on through the forward pump, even at idle.
