65 Mustang exterior paint - what interior parts?

On a 65 Mustang Fastback, what interior parts where painted the exterior color.

I am restoring my interior, and may as well try to it correct.

On mine the floor boards under the fold down seat are.

Not sure about the front floor pans because mine have been painted over in black.

On mine the metal under the rear window is, but some of the metal along the sides looks like dull red oxide primer.

What about the wheel wells mine are black, not sure if thats correct.

And lastly what metal in the trunk should be the exterior color?

Sorry lots of questions.

I did my 1966 about three years ago. Had to buy two gallons of exterior, for it uses that much when you paint everything authentic.

Inside each fender was exterior color. Then I gave it a shot of soundproofing asphalt.

Down in the duct at front of windshield was exterior color. (Hard to get paint down there).

Whole of interior, except for interior face of roors was exterior color.

Except for top of fuel tank, the inside to trunk (including hinges, but not locking ahrdware) was exterior color.

Underside of hood and trunk lid was exterior color.

Underside of whole body was red oxide. Then gave it a wipe of soundproofing asphalt undercoating.

Engine compartment was black. Radiator core support and area immediately behind grille was black.

Inside (lower side) of roof was exterior color.

In behind dash panel was not painted. The whole dash panel was interior color.

Floors front and rear was exterior color.

Under the scuff plates at doors was exterior color.

Both sides of the sheet metal under each bumper was exterior color.

Fuel tank was originally natural, but I made mine black to hide the rust spots.

Simply remove all glass and trim and begin spraying.

Found in general, anything inside with the texture (steel) finish got the two tone paint. Doors and rear access hatch being though here. One side exterior, the other side interior.

I used lottsa paint remover and one of those little welder's SS wire brushs to get the old paint from the indentions in that pattern. Later on found that hot tanking the steel part was faster by about four times.

I was painted so in mine. Which means two shots of paint then. Hood hinge is black, but trunk hinge is exterior.
