SHEETMETAL CONFUSION ? ? ?

Hi Guys

I'm confused as heck about ordering the right sheetmetal parts for my 1966 Mustang Convert.

HERE'S MY CONFUSION IF YOU WILL PLEASE

The left & right back side of my floor is rotted/holes.
I don't know what part to order. I look at the parts houses and get more confused.

Do I order:
FLOOR PAN REAR EXTENSION
SEAT PLATFORM

The best way I can discribe the part thats shot is:
There are TWO SMALL CLIPS welded on either side (rear) that are for the back seats to clip into. That's where to trouble is: Rust/Rot/Holes. Needs replacing somehow.

I'm in your hands guys.
Picture(s) will help if you can. I'm lo' & slow but I finally do get it after the 1000ths time . . .

THANKS AGAIN
GOD BLESS

The seat platform is for the front seats. Sounds like you need the floor pan rear extension. The part just before the rear axle hump under the rear seat.

Are you talking about the area where your feet rest or where the lower backseat sets? Foot reast area is the rear of the floor pieces.

Hi Guy

Its the area where your butt seat on the back seat. The part of the sheet metal has a CLIP mig welded so that the bottom part of the rear seat snips into the seat.

That's the best I can describe it.
Now I've seem complete and one sided floor pans for me car, However, not one of 'em had the CLIP on it.

Anyone out there no what I'm talking about ? ? ?
Please if any of you guys have a pic of this part and where I can buy it. I would greatly appreciate it.

THANKS GUYS
GOD BLESS

Hi Dacofa

I looked and looked at all the most popular parts houses and guess what?

I guy on another forum simply said, THEY DON'T MAKE THAT SHEET METAL PIECE where the clip is attached too.

You know what ? HE'S RIGHT.
All the rear seat pans I looked at STOP at the rear seat foot well ( if you know what i mean.)

I was told that I had to fabicate the piece. Hey makes sense to me. And in my case I can salvage the clip piece area on my car.

That's about it guys.
The search is OVER

GOD BLESS

Hey CaptVirgilHts

The website you send me is formillar but their having trouble right now and I can't punch in that part # you were so kind to give me (3648B)

So, I e-mail 'em the part # with an explaination of the sheet metal part.

I wait for their reply and I'll let you know what's up.
Have you had any experience with this back sheet metal area in you car or convertible like mine

Like I was told that I have to fab. it myself. I sure makes sense do to the fact I haven't seen a pic of this part anywhere.
So the guy who suggested to me that they just don't make this part anymore seems right. BUT YET VERY STRANGE

Parts houses make every other part in the world and yet not made this back sheet metal seat piece/pan
Let see what DYNACORN has to say.

Thanks again for your help in trying to slove this sheet metal mystery

GOD BLESS

Sorry SCHOONER go to the catalog tab and then click on the Mustang picture. That takes you to the Mustang catalog section I just put in "floor" in the search box. You'll get all the floor sections they have. Stu

Hey Stu

Thanks for the try. However, its still no good. I went to the webpage puched in catalog and then " FLOOR " and true there's a full floor pan.

But no extened piece. I know its hard to believe.
I forgot the remember what kind of Mustang do you have again. If its like mine.
Where your back seat is there's two sheet metal clips. One on the left and one on the right.
Those clips are for your/my seat to hook-up too in order for the seat to stay in place plus bolts too.

Stu, its just not made for some crazy reason. Try if you will an asks around. I been at this crazy deal for 3 weeks now and when I get started I'll just have to fab. the pieces on both sides.

THANKS AGAINT STU
If you come up with other info about this crazy situation please let me know.

GOD BLESS
RAY
