Driveshaft length

Help! Before I dive into changing out a C-4 for a AOD I notice the length was 1 inch longer on the AOD. Will the drive shaft for the C-4 still work or will I need to change it too? Are there any other clearance or hook-up problems I need to know about? (1967 coupe with 289 and 8"rear)
