Rack and pinion ???

Has anyone tried one of those rank and pinion kits from ebay? the 800 dollar one's? from dynamic racing products or unisteer. anyone know what parts they are using in the kit. looks like alot less of a mess then randals rack or those bulky rack kits. i need alot of room for headers "2 inch primary". anyone know of a kit that moves the rack in front of the spindels?

Re: Rack and pinion ???

I installed a Randallsrack and have been happy with it. Cant speak to any other R&P system tho. There is plenty of room for the headers. No interferance at all. I did a write up on some of the issues I ran into with the RR unit. It's about 5 or 6 posts before yours titled Randalls Rack review.

Good luck with your rack , the RR is definitely better than the old stock system. Nice tight steering now, no more slop.

Re: Rack and pinion ???

I purchased from Dynamic Racing Products in the spring. After waiting 3 months for my purchase, I got it damaged, bad finish, and they wouldn't answer e mails or return phone calls. I searched their feed back and I am not the only one with these very same issues. When I finally got some one to answer the e mail I sent them, it was very rude and they did everything they could to put me down. The phone calls were even worse. I wouldn't buy 500 gold coins from them for 50 cents, so be forewarned

I installed the unisteer R&P on my Falcon. So far so good. Good customer service if you talk to the right person. There were a few issues, but nothing major. Power steering hose was too short. I had a 6inch piece made at a local oil company. Instructions are a little vague on a few things. Phone call fixed that. Plenty of clearance with the 302. Probably could have gone with the manual rack. But it drives nice. The cross member and rack install was very simple, just remove the frame mount bolts and install it with the longer bolts. Very heavy mount. Any questions?

Re: Rack and pinion ???

The kits we sell on ebay are manufactured by UNISTEER but due to the low prices we can not advertise as a brand name products.,, The 65-70 Mustang Manual kit is approx 800.00 shipped and Power kit is approx 1500.00 shipped...

Dynamicracing@aol.com for more info

This is 1/2 the price of other kits on the market and no welding is needed.. Full bolt on application.

Nobody on ebay buys a product for over 500.00 and waits 3 months without filing a paypal dispute or chargeback so this is no where close to the truth, If the item was damaged or had a bad finish we would have replaced it.

Not sure what the problem was but i am sure you did not wait 3 months and get a damaged product with a bad finish and not send it back for exchange

We stand behind the items we sell and did not get 30,000 feedbacks by taking 3 months to ship a product

Re: Rack and pinion ???

Wow every time somebody has a bad review for a product, somebody who claims to work for stated company magically appears and denouces the bad review. Kinda makes me wonder. Oh ya this being your first post here kinda gives it away.

Re: Rack and pinion ???

He probably is from dynamic racing, but the fact that he is probably googling the company for negative feedback means he is trying to correct a problem with consumer perception. I may be wrong, and I do not have any personal experience with the company, but I would do more research before buying.

Re: Rack and pinion ???

The two R&P units that seems to get consistent good reviews are the TCP and Randals.

I just received my manual TCP rack. It mounts in place of the old under the pan tube so that might not work for you.

Re: Rack and pinion ???

Do not use the flaming river kit. I have one on my car and it took extensive modification to make it work right. I also have some bumpsteer with it. Then when I dropped the upper control arms the tie rod ends were too short, so I had to do yet more custom fabrication for something that is supposed to be a bolt in deal. Go with a TCP rack and be happy with a quality product.
