Cleveland Headers

I need some help here . I have converted my 1970 351 4V Cleveland from an FMX to a T5. I had to remove my auto headers and I bought the only set made (Hooker comp #6920) for 1970 4V man trans ( Z bar clearence ). These headers DO NOT FIT ,they hit the steering bow and idler arm. Also even if they didnt hit they hang about 3 inches below the sub frame !
Anyone out there have a header that will fit .

Re: Cleveland Headers

Do a google search for Sanderson headers. I have an auto and use their shorties might work with the manual trans.

Re: Cleveland Headers

Take a look at Summit they list 17 for 351C, with several 4V heads
Look at the following link. If you want them perfect call Accufab or Ford powertrain, but expect to pay $500.00+

Re: Cleveland Headers

Have you tried to fit your old headers? If there is only interferance with the clutch leakage you my have other options. I had terrible fitment problems with Accufab that I shouldn't have had. Thumbs up for ford powertrain.

Re: Cleveland Headers

I read this and just realized that when I put Dynomax headers on my 71 Mustang Grande, (351c 2v,) I had troubles putting the drivers side header. It wouldn't fit because it would hit the steering box. All I had to do was heat up that little part of the header that was hitting the corner of the steering box and tapped it in a bit so it would fit around it. Easy fix, I'm not sure if this a related problem to what you are having but if it helps then awesome!

(All I am trying to say is if its just a section of a header heat it up and tap it in, sorry if this doesn't help.)

Good luck,
Cameron
