body work begins....

I'm back for a few weeks, ten back on the road. Been working on my Shovel head Harley so I can sell it for $$$ for the Mustang.

I have had my car media blasted and epoxy primed. The car was in great condition rust-wise. I have a few minor spots to fix, and plan to begin the paint prep.

My question to you is, do I put regular gray primer over my epoxy primer and begin body work? I ask this, as I am concerned about sanding thru the epoxy primer, or "violating" the integrity of the epoxy primer during the final stages of paint prep/final sanding.

Re: body work begins....

Use a good urethane primer over the epoxy. The old grey laquer primer will shrink and crack on you later on. When you get it on take flat black paint in a spray bomb and mist it . This is your guide coat and it will help you from sanding off to much.
When the guide coat is gone stop sanding, this will also help you see any imperfections that were left behind that you need to fix.
