Fortes(Forte's Parts Connection (508) 875-0016 - TREMEC DEALER, FACTORY FIVE COBRA PARTS, FORD RACING PARTS, FFR MKI and MKII, MUSTANG PARTS, TRANSMISSIONS, T-56, T-5, TKO, TR-3550) in Massachusetts and Keisler(Keisler Engineering, Inc. The best 5-speed and 6-speed transmission systems | Classic car transmission | camaro transmission | corvette transmission | mustang transmission) in Tennessee both sell a kit for early mustangs. I am using the keisler TKO 600 kit for my 69 Mach 1 with a 521 CJ. I have the factory clutch pedals but am going wtih a cable setup. Both can tell you what you need and sell kits and individual parts. There setups are complete from bellousing to driveshaft to include linkage question based on your app.

Re: tko going in 69 mach 1

I run one behind my 489 FE in a 70.

Its an easy swap, I run factory clutch linkage with heim joints instead of bushings

You have to trim the shifter hole slightly, trim the floor crossmember about 1/2 way across its with (not the tranny crossmember but the floor has a brace itself above the tranny) and you have to shape the floor (BFH) directly under the radio (Easy to do and still keep it looking nice)

Then its literally a bolt in for a 4 speed. I even used my same driveshaft

I do NOT recommend using the drop down crossmember that avoids cutting. It puts the engine and tranny at a steep angle, and on my FE the fan would have hit, and it certainly didnt look right in the shroud.

Angle the motor and tranny as it is from the factory and it will be good to go

I used Dark Horse Performance for parts
