65 instrument bezel replacement

my instrument bezel has lost all its chrome and I want to replace it with an aftermarket one but when I looked under the dash I wasn't sure It could be accessed without removeing everything . Is there a procedure for replaceing a bezel?

I changed my 66 bezel by removing some screws holding it on to the dash. I think there are 6 or 8 holding it on. After the screws are out you have to reach under the dash and loosen the speedo cable nut . I didn't have much slack in the cable to pull the bezel forward and remove the cable. Make sure you use tape to mark all the wires to the instruments. Also it is a good time to get a new lens and change the bulbs and bulb covers. There are new colors different from stock if you like. Check out the new white decals you can apply if you don't want that stock black background.
