Re: 71 Mach 351C Header Install tips

Well my first attempt went in the crapper. I can't seem to get to more that a few bolts to remove them on the driver side. That coupled with the fact that I can't get the car more than 16 inches off the ground, had me look to the pros for a price. The only shop willing to do it wants $275.00 if he can do it in 4 hours. So, I'm off the Northern Tool to spend $150.00 on more tools and I will reattempt it tomorrow. Man I hate when that happens.

Here's the beast. My second attempt on the header install begins in "T" minus 2 hrs.attachment.php (JPEG Image, 680x510 pixels) - Scaled (68%)

Re: 71 Mach 351C Header Install tips

Well, I just couldn't pull the old ones off. I took it to an old Hotrodder mechanic and the Headers are done. The only thing left is the new headers are 3 inches shorter than the old ones so it's off the muffler shop to add the pipe and install the collectors. I will get it back on Friday, as I am out of town this week. Can't wait to hear this bad boy.

Talking Re: 71 Mach 351C Header Install tips

Well my local Ford dealer just finished installing the headers. All I can say is that this machine sounds "Freakn Awesome" It was a job to get them in but the fit is absolutely fantastic. Compared to the old ones, I gained 1/2 inch clearance to the steering box, and almost 4 inches to the passenger side firewall, and last but not least, approx 2.5 inches of ground clearance was gained. These things fit the best of any header application that I have ever seen.. "WAY TO GO DOUG'S HEADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will attach pics and will try to upload a short video if that is possible. BTW, I now have a set of used headers for sale, complete with collectors. I am one happy camper now incase you couldn't tell. Thanks for all the feedback.
