heads and exst plates for 351c ?????

http://www.pricemotorsport.com/html/body_ep-23___high_port_exhaust_plat.html

i finaly got in touch with the guy that sold me my heads for my cleveland and he sent me this direction wat do yall think about these he said

i qoute him "The efficiency ratio of a stock cleveland
head is only around 59% because the intake flows so much better than the exhaust. With PME exhaust ports your efficiency goes up in the 80's which translates to a cleaner burn and more power. ALOT more power. So to keep this simple you won't need a huge duration on the exhaust. This means you save a little power down low without loosing any up top. Remember these heads with PME plates will flow more than a 351 could even use above 10000 RPM'S and you'll never spin those kind of RPM'S. So there is no reason to have to run a huge exhaust duration with 80% efficiency and those kind of flow numbers on the intake and exhaust ports."

is this a good rout to go or is it bliber blaber
he also said much more about the cam choice

i assume your are talking about 4V heads? there would be no point if this is a 2V...

Thumbs up Re: heads and exst plates for 351c ?????

This man is one smart dude. What he says is gospel IMO.

There were once (may still be) sheet metal port plates that did the same. All FORD engines were exhaust port restricted mainly due to the confined chassis they were put in.

Re: heads and exst plates for 351c ?????

the plates do work better. But I have also heard it can be hard to get a good seal...exhaust leaks are annoying. Plus, its not cheap to mill the heads for this mod...have you been quoted a price this? Unless its an all out race deal or you have cash to burn...i think a good cam designed for the 4V's would work pretty well. You don't see many 351C's at the strip with port plates and they run pretty fast.

You don't need those - unless you plan to recreate a 70's style Pro Stock engine. And since you post this in the 65-73 Mustang section, if you did use those you'd not get a header on the car until you put in MII front steering and cut out the shock towers.

And PS - the MPG plates are BS also. Good for creating intake leaks.
