Question High Back Seat Interchangeability

I need a drivers seat for a 70 Mach 1 and before I go searching the web and yards, does anyone know what seats from what other models and years are interchangable? Covers are not an issue, all upholstry will be new.

Thanks

Re: High Back Seat Interchangeability

'69 and '70 Mustang/Cougar high backs are the only ones that are the same. 1971 and up are a totally different seat.

Re: High Back Seat Interchangeability

I don't think they are the same. I know there is a differrnce between the 1969 and the 1970 in the headreast area. But I think that the standard seat and the deluxe are different frames too. I know the foam is different.

I was always lead to believe the '69 mach 1 style buckets just became the defacto 1970 regular seats ( not the upholstery of course) The standard '69 seats were really just a retrimmed 1968 low back bucket with a headrest. The foam will most like be different between '69 and '70 as the lower swab shape changed. Deluxe too, as it had square panels

You'll probably find the lower frame of '68 '69 '70 are all the same. The upper frame of the '69 highback and the '70 will be the same too.

Re: High Back Seat Interchangeability

I put some 79 Mustang seats in my coupe. Of course, they have been re-upholstered (spelling is correct? )
