1964 1/2 mustang rasies as you reverse and lowers as you drive foward

My 64 1/2 raises as I reverse the car back and lower as it drives foward. It raises about 2 to 3''.

I have replace the front suspension with a 1'' lower spring, roller perches, roller upper arm, roller lower arm, adjustable rod ends, new shocks, replaced everything except the knucle and drum.and also did the shelby drop.

what could cause this, you can see it moving up as you back the car up.and lower as you drive foward, and also when i put it on the hoist and put it back on the ground the suspension stays up as if i didnt lower the front.it lowers as I drive the car foward after I take it off the hoist.something is not right here.I havent done a alingment yet.
Any idea.........

Do you have Granada front disc?
Did you get the car aligned since you put the new suspension on?

Sounds like the parking brake is sticking on to me.

Also did you install complete new upper control arms or just add pivot kits to your existing arms? If you did the kits you may have them cranked too tight. You're supposed to have a piece of steel pipe a certain size across the A arm to avoid squishing the A arms together at the pivot causing them to bind. Ford shop manual states the pipe is to be 6 15/16 inches long.

Sorry that dimension is for a '67 up please check the 65 Shop manual in case that dimension may differ.

Yeah... The only thing that makes the car raise and lower while moving is either a HUMONGOUS amount of torque, or the brakes dragging....

Did you tighten the control arm bushings while they were hanging or did you lower the car before final tightening of the control arms? Sounds like bushing bind to me.

Re: 1964 1/2 mustang rasies as you reverse and lowers as you drive foward

I am sure someone here got it right or will so you can find it soon . I had a 69 mustang once that raised up as soon as I put forward gear in , down as I placed it in reverse . Mine was simple . The U clamps holding the rear end in place , one was broke . If U clamp bolt is broke it will raise and lower the car .

I looked the problem a while . Get someone in car as you change from reverse to forward . You will see the problem .
