Replacing Front Sway Bar Bushings

Hey there. I'm new to the board and there's tons of information on this website..it's great.

The front sway bar busing on the passenger side of my 67 mustang has squeezed out of the bracket that mounts to the frame. I have plans to upgrade the entire suspension in the near future, but i want to replace this one bushing for the time being. I only have a carport to work on this vehicle and I don't want to take it to a mechanic to replace this one bushing. Does anyone have any recommendations on tools and procedures on how I can replace this myself? If there's an article with pictures, that would be a great help. I have some wrenches and whatnot, but I don't have access to a ton of tools. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Re: Replacing Front Sway Bar Bushings

Sway bar just bolts on the car - 3/8" bolts IIRC. Just remove the bushing clamps and let the bar swing down. If the replacement is solid, you can cheat by slicing the bushing on the back and slipping it over the bar. Or, just soak it in hot water, clean the bar, take the nearest end loose, spray the bar with silicone (or rub with dishwashing liquid) and slide the bushing on. There is no tech or adjustment to any of this - just put all the parts back the way they came off.

Recommend you get a service manual for the car - lots of data and illustrations.

GOOD ADVICE! There is nothing to that job. Can be done by yourself in an hour or so, if that.
