68-70 front hose mount

Sorry, starting a new thread on an old subject, but I am fabbing up the 68 calipres etc, and looking at the 68 disc hoses, where does the two bolt bracket mount to, inside of fender apron or top/bottom of frame rail?

Also, how much torque do you put on the banjo bolt?

Re: 68-70 front hose mount

When you remove the drum brake hose you will see two holes in the frame rail where the disc hose bolts too..I believe the drum brake hose uses one of the bolt holes and has a tab that goes in the other hole..You will just need to get another bolt the same size as the one for the drum setup and push hard on it while turning(the hole that had the tab in it is unthreaded)..It should thread right in once it gets started....The disc hose has the entry facing the rear of the car instead of the front so you will need to tweak or replace the metal lines..The fitting is smaller for the disc setup as well so might as well shorten and replace with the smaller fitting or just get the proper hard line........I've always just snugged the banjo bolts up good..Don't know what the proper torque might be?

Re: 68-70 front hose mount

Thanks, on my 67 drum hose set up I have a tab that has a 90 degree from the frame with a hole the hose goes through, and c clamps in. I guess I am wondering is this the same location as the 68, on the side of the frame rail right behind the ball joint? Thanks for the info on direction of the hose, I was wondering about that too.
