I will have to show him this website. I'll try to take some pics of his car and post them. You will be amazed, I think I could swap the cars in your driveway and you wouldn't know anything was wrong until your key wouldn't work.

VERY NICE CAR ! I've got a real soft spot for the big bodies.
You are exactly right when you say these cars are often overlooked. I wish I had a nickle for every time I've been told my car wasn't a " real " Mustang. It sure as hell ain't a fake Mustang ! With a massaged Q code Cleveland and a 4 speed, she runs as good as most any one could ask.
Here's mine..............

Sweet Ride! Is it all original? I like the fact that you kept the black on the hood "Flat Black". Most people, when a resto is done, paint it some form of gloss black. Here's a tidbit, the goal with this model was to mimick the cockpit of an airplane. This is why the dash is so high and deep, so that is would resemble a cockpit. The hood was given the "Flat Black" insert because "back in the day" most commercial aircraft had the center of the nose painted like that to help remove the glare from the sun. It is a small detail, but very important to the car looking original. Nice ride.

Re: I promised Pics, sorry for the delay, enjoy!
It's restored to original in most respects but ... I added the Ram-Airn system from a 71 Boss 351. The intake is a D1ZX Buddy Bar intake. It's an over the counter Ford Performance part from the early 70's. I also used a set of dome pistons to improve compression ratio and performance. Other than that this car is a rotisserie restoration to nearly exactly as built.
It's a numbers matching original Q code, 4 speed with 3.50 Trac-Lok. The interior is white deluxe and features P/S, P/DB and AM/FM. I added the tilt wheel so I could get in and out of the car easier. I'm not 17 anymore
Thanks for the props. It's nice to be around the guys with the " land yachts ". Unfortunately many people just turn their noses up at these cars. On the other hand, I wouldn't trade this car for 10 66's.
Thanks, Dean

Yellow Monster PICs
Link to a few PICs of mine ... It now sports the 460 and four speed rather than the factory 351C.
It maintains the basic stock appearance in a general sense, but is modified in many ways ... the interior shot certainly shows change.

Sweet Ride! Have you timed it in a 1/4 mile? Bet that 460 is scary fast.

I havta tell ya, I have a real soft spot for the 71 - 73 Mach 1 convertable. When they are done right they could compete with any car of today for style and looks. Nice ride, especially with the light blue accent emerging from the rear wheels!
