BIgger wheels for my 66 Ford Mustang

I am converting a 1966 Ford Mustang from a Straight 6 200 motor to a 289. I am making lots of changes to the car and I want to know if anyone has put 17" by 8" wheels on a 66 mustang without any issues. If I do this I will run 225/45/17's on the front and 235/45/17's on the back. Please let me know what you think...

What rear end are you running and if it is a swap is it any wider than stock?
For a stock width you should be OK with eight inch wheels but the tires (235's) might be too wide. In the front eight inch wheels are pushing the limits for steering through a jounce.
