Just run a 12" x 3" filter and housing. That should clear the distributor.

I would say no go on the foam air cleaner. they will get crispy if the car backfires but theres a metal cage to keep the foam from being sucked into the motor...for the most part.

They sell plastic spacers that will raise your air cleaner up to ~2 inches.

Poster.. not sure what you've decided, but it seems like a good deal to me.. especially if he is cleaning your engine compartment up. Do you know what kind of parts (pistons etc) are on the inside. It wouldn't hurt to do a look/see to see what's inside.
