Question Earky Bucket Seats

Hi You Guys, A quick question: Is anyone aware of early Mustangfs coming with a NON-adjustable right front bucket seat? My friend's does not have the indent on the seat frame to accept the seat track mechanism and the floor mounting holes are a quarter of an inch too short to acccept the track that he bought. Another member of our Club thinks that some early Stangs did not have adjustable right buckets! We are stumped! Any Help??!! THANKS AGAIN Tom

Re: Earky Bucket Seats

I have read that very early production (64.5) mustangs did not have an adjustable passenger seat. In fact my father bought a 64.5 Mustang back in 64 and I remember the dealer telling him that his was one of the first cars to come with an adjustable passenger seat and that the earlier cars did not adjust.

Dear 947166 THANKS A MILLION for your insight!!! I was driving myself crazy! The seat mounting holes are 11 inches apart on this seat and the tracks are all 11 1/2 inches also! Thanks Again!! Tom

Re: Earky Bucket Seats

I just found another difference the other day about 64.5/65. My 64.5 buckets need to be recovered bad, and I just picked up another set with no tears that came out of a 65 for a good price, that I'll use till I recover my originals. I was planning to use my tracks on the seats as they where in better condition, but noticed that the 64.5 tracks would not bolt up to the bottom of the 65 seats. The bolt pattern is about a half inch more narrow on the early seats. Oh, and my car is a late July 64 car and has the adjustable seat on the passenger side.

I just moved to Fairfield last month. I'm just off Waterman. I've only driven around a couple of time since I got here. I'm working on the rear suspention now.
