Lordy we need a sticky for this!

Vintage Mustang Wiring Diagrams

This goes up to 72 but it should be the same.

So how painless is it? Mustang wiring is so simple I don't know why people buy kits???

You can sticky all you want.I have looked at this diagram 3 times today and still do not see anyting that says"steering column".As to why people buy kits, maybe like this roadster that I'm working on,whomever built it used red and black wire. Its all 73 mustang except this pos wiring that I'm trying to fix.Except for the wires that come out of the steering column,Every stinkin wire is either RED or BLACK.

Re: Need steering column wiring diagram

I think the words are "Thank you" I just posted this link yesterday hence my reference to putting this site on a "sticky". There is a search function on this forum BTW. or find it the hard way like I did...Google (Well not that hard really). Good luck with the wiring I hope the diagram helps

Re: Need steering column wiring diagram

You have to look for the components on the steering column. Turn signal switch, horn switch, Ignition switch etc.
There isn't a separate harness or diagram for the column.

OldFart,
It was a real pleasure to talk to you. I hope you are able to use some of what was said to figure this out.
Guys, he is working with a harness that was installed aftermarket and trying to wire in a painless kit harness. The wires in the his old harness don't match the Ford color code. Its all different.

It was really nice talking to you.
