Smile 65 mustang

Hi all there is new dvd out produced by the speed channel called ford muscle, victory by design.
I have particular interest as my car was used in the filming of it where they comparing 65 car to 2005 car where Alain de Cadenet drove car round small hill climb circuit in wales uk.
Had top day there watching the action its only took 3 years for it to be finished so had nice surprise yesterday when i received copy in post.

Just thought would let you all know as you have all been very helpfull in helping me when ive had problems with the car..

Ive been very busy with car this winter ive fitted a 9 inch axle that had to be narrowed, made and fitted adjustable panhard rod bar, fitted tru trac, converted to 94 cobra rear discs, made all my own plates. On front end re- set all front altered front anti roll bar so fits better. Ive binned the 600 vac secondary and fitted double pumper.

The car is tranformed it drives beatifully, handles well no wondering really grips road, and all the flat spots i had with vac secondary have completely gone and its no worse on fuel consumption. To say im a happy bunny is understatement, now just gotta get bike running for isle man tt.

Sounds like a great dvd. Can it be ordered somewhere?

How difficult was it to design and fit the Cobra brakes? I'd like ot do that on my 66 coupe. The Granada disc's just don't cut it anymore.

Dude was yours the light blue coupe? I saw that show and it was great. I like how de Cadenet calls the 289 engine 2-8-9. It is must see for any Ford guy. Congrats

Hi yes mine is the light blue/silver coupe you would not believe it once had horible britax sunroof with black vinyl.
My mate who did the body work haywood classic and custom
normally spends most of his time doing v dubs a you can see from his site but few of them are putting in v8s so they seeing the light.

Good point about where to get dvd from ive been on there web site
Victory By Design, seen on the Speed Channel, DVD's featuring Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Jaguar and it dont seem to be listed yet???

The cobra disc brake conversion was not too hard took quite bit of time but you really need access to lathe and steel cutting bandsaw.
I turned up new axle bearing retainer plates and cut the centres out the old drum back plates so i had correct spacing. These retainer plates are just undersize of centre of brake discs diameter if that makes sense.
Drill two holes on outer edge then you need to make bracket with spacers that attach to retainer plate and caliper.
Make new brake pipes using braided hose and i welded tab on axle so could use existing hand brake cables.
Its really quite hard to explain i can always get under car and take some pics and e mail them to you, i should have done that really as i went along, doh.
A friend here in the uk picked up a kit off mustangsteve.com
Which is pretty similar to what i cutom made.

jonny.
