Question Seat Upgrade Questions

I am in the process of restoring / resto-modding a `67 Mustang here in Arizona. I have never been a fan of the OEM slip-n-slide bucket seats from the early years, and want to upgrade to a low back bucket with the head rest feature. I am also going to be upgrading the seat belt situation as soon as my welding guy gets time to get to the house and mount some tabs where needed.

Any suggestions for seats that is not going to take a total reconstruction of the floor pan to mount?

Any advice on the seat belt situation welcomed as well.

Re: Seat Upgrade Questions

fox body seats and pre 99 seats will. You use the tracks from your car and attach the seats to it. I am using '01 seats, slight mod to the seat pans and made tracks to use with the seats. It took about 2 1/2 hours to completely change them over. I love them. You do need to figure out the height of the seats and gauge them from there. The overall cost should be the factor. I chose a set of leather seats so for 300 plus my time, I'm way ahead.

Asa far as the seatbelts are concerned, you need to check on line for a supplier. There are roughly 3 companies that truly make them. The top of the roof line has an exposed hole which you use for the anchor but you need to fabricate some nut plates which will accommodate the size of the bolt.

Here is a good link to some that I helped the person who wrote up the topic: 3-point seat belt install pictures - Vintage Mustang Forums

Re: Seat Upgrade Questions

I don't know about the floors in your 67 but the 1994 Tarus SHO Bucket seats are AWESOME and fit PERFECTLY in my 60-63 Falcons....

Re: Seat Upgrade Questions

[SIZE=2]The seats from a 93 Mustang fit perfectly, I removed the original 93 risers and welded grade 8 bolts to the rails with extension tabs to move the seat back further,I'm 6'5".
The pictures show the original 68 seat on the right , the 93 seats as I got them on the left and the modified seat done in leather in the center. I wanted the upholstry to be similar to the original 68 seats.
