the early 8inch case doesn't have much webing on them = very weak

the later 8inch case has extra webbing = much stonger.

if you don't have that case then find one. they are not hard to find you can probably pick one up for $50 then transfer all your parts to it.

I'm making similar power with my 347 stroker and I have not had any problem with my 8". I've got the Richmond Lock-rite with 3.80 gears. I've run it at the track with slicks. Knock on wood..............no problems yet!
