'66 Mustang from France

Hello,

My name is Pierre-jean, and my Mustang is a '66 restomod converible: TCP front IFS, power disk break, Flaming river steering box, Koni rear shock, traction bar, '65 rally pack, bucket seat....

Engine is a 289 with dual quad and '89 302 heads. I've a problem with it, and hope you will help me: The french Mustang day is in tow weeks and a head gasket broke after only 160 miles (and complet rebuilt engine!)
My question is: must I use a specific head gasket with this combo (302 head and late 289 block)??

Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad english!

Re: '66 Mustang from France

Pull your heads and have them milled flat and use FELPRO or Victor Reinz head gaskets.

That will seal you right up

FE
P.S. sorry for my bad French.....

Bonjour et bienvenue!

I have an English friend who works for ESA in Toulouse who has a '67 convertible. I should see if he has it on the road yet. You may meet at a show one day!
