What TRANNY can I use with a 390
I am looking for something with O/D and alot newer. I have a 1968 gt fastback w/s-code motor and deluxe interior. I am just including all the facts because there a center console and I'm not sure what kind of shifter I can use with it. It is an automatic I'm not sure what tranny is in there now but I was reading up on it and it says something like you can manually up/down shift your automatic is that common in older cars or is that a really nice tranny that came stock?

There is an adaptor available to add an AOD to an FE. Not sure what vendor but a google search will probably get you the info. They are $$$$$!!!!
