Thought I would introduce me.

My name is Bud. I found my 64.5 D code in a barn about 10 years ago and sloooowly started restoring. It had sat for about 15 years but I dropped in a battery, put 5 gallons in and drove her home on 7 cylinders. My son, he was 11 at the time, and I would plan projects on it and slowly the old girl came back to life. It had been owned by an auto shop teacher that used it for his students to practice on. It had been converted to front disc and someone had pulled the 4 speed and put in a C4 transmission. I am currently putting in a T5 5 speed. We had the top replaced about a year ago and a new paint job and body straightening done at the same time. Next project is to beef up the 289 (was rebuilt shortly after we bought it. Sounds like fun! I would go with heads and a mild cam. maybe edelbrock or trickflow or even afr and a comp cam. you should be able to have a little fun with that.
