Re: '67 coupe..what's it worth?
You guy's aren't seeing it are you?
flea-bay IS a good source because those car's are getting bought and sold daily..
Go look at hemmings, some idiot wants 15,000 for his 67 mustang coupe 289 car that needs More work than it originally took to manufacture it... Do you really think that dude is going to get that money when there are still so damn many mustangs out there? Do people naturally think that their 67 mustang is worth $15K now just because this guy wan't 15 for his?
Then look at the last 30 day's of sales on e-bay (the only place you can actually see if a car sold or not) and the last time I was there there were 5 of 6 1967 stangs V-8 AND I-6 that were sold UNDER $800 bucks, and maybe one or two that sold for over 2K but they were FINISHED...
That's my point, the current market for cars is the market where they are actively selling, not the paper, where nobody but the owners know if it sells or not...
I can justify this with my 64 Galaxie $5,000 car to anyone who has one or is trying to sell one, and my 67 Galaxie Vert, $3,500 dollar car just because it's a vert, and I got it for $400 bucks...
I'm not saying your shell and parts aren't worth more than $500, but I'm positive that with all the cheaper alternatives out there you'd be hard pressed to get $1,200, even though you and I know that it's closer to being done and more solid than many daily drivers out there!

Re: '67 coupe..what's it worth?
yes, I agree with you. That's the problem lately, though, is that people are jacking the price up on stuff, because "theirs is golden". Even POS cars are going up lately... Its happening to almost ANYTHING classic these days. That's why I say, if I get what I want for it, I'll take it. If not, it doesn't cost me a nickel sitting in my garage right now..

Re: '67 coupe..what's it worth?
Dont panic. A good friend recently sold (2 months ago) a 67 convertible for $7,700 on ebay. It needed a full resto. the body was decent but it needed front floor pans, a trans and engine rebuild (289/C-4), a new top, a full interior restoration (needed a drivers seat) all other incidentals. A guy that builds custom stangs in Atlanta ended up buying it and didnt care as long as it was all there. My friend got nervous because the price was very low up until the last 2 hours and then it shot up. Judging from the pics the body is cherry and you have most everything. It is worth a try. Put a reserve on it and see what happens.

Re: '67 coupe..what's it worth?
thanks...still a lot of thinking to do...like, should I finish the rest of the bodywork and prime it? I don't think I should paint it, as the potential buyer may get turned off on a car due to color choice... Do I install the suspension/brakes, rebuilf the diff, etc etc

If you get it rolling again, and dont paint it, as you mentioned, you should be fine.
