Question 1970 Galaxie 9 into 68 Mustang

I found a 70 Galaxie with a 390 c6 and a 9" rear. The guy wants 500 for the car. How difficult would it be to do this swap? And would it be worth it or should I just buy a Currie. I am not much into sitting on things until it sells; so I would junk the rest of the car.

If it all runs and drives it is well worth it. If it isn't running then you may end up with so much junk.

Re: 1970 Galaxy 9 into 68 Mustang

If you were planning to swap the whole thing I am pretty sure it is way to wide to fit in a mustang.I think it is also set up for a coil spring suspension so you would have to weld on the spring perches.Way too much trouble in my opinion...Look for 69-70 mustangs and cougars for a housing that will bolt right in..

Re: 1970 Galaxy 9 into 68 Mustang

The 390 should bolt into the engine bay. Springs might need to be changed.
I think the C6 will bolt in also.
When I was 16 the fastest car I drove was a 390 Mustang fastback.
It had an automatic.

Gotta figure being 38 yrs old the engine will need some work.
Also do not think the valve seats will be hardened. So they might be worn pretty good.
The C6 will be easy enough to rebuild.
