Sound deadening for 66 floor

I have just completed the floor repair on my 1966 coupe and would like to upgrade from the small factory sheets to a better system. Is there a better product out there or should I stick with the old stuff. I have seen Dynamat and would like to know who might sell it.

Thanks
Greg

Best products are from Second skin audio.
Look at this comparative test :

Sound Deadener Showdown

First lay of damplifier pro
Second lay of spectrum
third lay of overkill.

It made a great improvement my car regarding exhaust droning!

Re: Sound deadening for 66 floor

Remember not to go overboard on this.

Yaers ago, I got some sound deadening stuff from local place according to their sound engineer. It stunk once it got hot, and was too thick. Making that I had to bend things in order to fit under the standard carpeting.

Re: Sound deadening for 66 floor

Dynamat has a kit that is cut for 65/66 mustangs. I have that and it is pretty complete. Not sure how much it is but you can go to The Official Dynamat Website

the guy to speak to is Paul:
Paul Sonoda
psonoda@dynamat.com
Product Management Director
Dynamic Control of North America, Inc.
The Official Dynamat Website
513-860-5094 Phone
513-860-5095 Facsimile

Paul is great to deal with. I would send him a email. If he doesn't get back with you in a timely fashion then call him. Feel free to drop my name:

here is a thread on another forum with several pictures of the kit installed.

HTH.
Richard.

Re: Sound deadening for 66 floor

Great info

The last thing I thought of is smell. I guess the materials can be made from some oil base materials. All the choices are very good.

Thanks
Greg

Re: Sound deadening for 66 floor

No oil in damplifier (butyl and aluminium) or spectrum (water base), no smell when cured.
