The problem with the Vic Jr is the bolt spacing on the exhaust ports. The heads are drilled from the Edelbrock to accept a 1 5/8 header primary tube. A 408 will need at least a 1 3/4. I have Vic jr's as well and plan to tap the heads so that I can match the headers with a bigger exhaust port. Call Ford Power Train (
Ford Powertrain Applications. Stan is a good guy but will tell you straight out that a 1 3/4 is tough to do on a Vic Jr. His flange accomodates the wider bolt pattern so all you really have to do is tap the heads, but be carefull as there is not a lot of depth available. A second option is port plates. This will allow you to bolt on the plate to the head and bolt a wider bolt pattern/bigger primary header to the plate. The down fall to this method is the bolts holding the plate on are inherently very short. Good luck
