I did buy a timing chain and gear set so that is on the to-do list. Why the head gaskets? Well, that's not written in stone, but I bought a complete gasket set so I figured I may as well use it up and that it wouldn't hurt.

I suppose it will give you the chance to at least look at the valves etc. kind of a check up ... I was asking cause I'm an all or nothing guy when it comes to rebuilding engines. In that if your going to pull the heads why stop there?
Strip the block, clean and paint and go from there knowing its all been looked at and what needed attention got replaced/fixed. Then when your out on the road there is no coulda shoulda wished I replaced that part.
