Re: racing cam???????
Every engine will have a camshaft in it. The camshaft makes the valves open and close, letting air and gas in, and letting the exhaust out.
There a different grades of camshafts. A stock cam will open and close the valves at different times, while the engine is running, than a race camshaft. So if you took the racing camshaft out, you'd have to put a different camshaft back to replace it.
A racing cam can make the engine more difficult to drive as it will make the idle rougher and the engine will not run as well at lower rpms.
It is difficult to change cams as the engine will have to be partially disassembled and then carefully reassembled with the new cam.
It is not possible to accurately predict your horsepower with out knowing more details about your engine.
Have you driven the Mustang yet? If so what did it drive like?
