1973 Cougar xr7 351C engine in a FOX.

so i went to pik and pull the other day just look around. and stumbled across this perfect 351 Clevland and i had to have it ...100$ and that thing was in my garage.

my intention is putting it in my lil 1993 v4 coupe. how simple is it? im keeping it carbed so im assuming its just drop in and go? im really looking for a clean and uncluttered look in my engine bay. ive gone ahead and bought a pair of hedman headers. also planning to use a 5.0 5 speed, and keep the rear end.

WHAT ELSE AM I MISSING??
What recommended parts to buy would you suggest?

thanks guys

Good luck getting it in! Your front springs will need an upgrade.

I have seen such metioned before. I think the new auto owners tend to dream of.. and stay with what they got, for cannot locate (cheaply) the correct items to support the added weight. Nor do they investigate the front brakes.

Several options, tubar crossmember and A-arms with coil over springs will reduce weight and give you a better spring rate. Bigger front swaybar a must. Or factory V-8 springs, with bigger swaybar and then get the GT, Cobra or whatever bigger disc brakes for the front. If you have a stick shift trans already, get a hyd throwout bearing setup for the new clutch, otherwise and auto is your easier route. Assessories will be your biggest PITA, due to the other engine mounts. Motor mounts, make your own or kits available, just a matter of $$$$ you want to spend.

If you are thinking of using that engine in a 1993 model car in California and want to have it registered you will never get it to pass smog inspection.
