Smile Hello FM!

Hello!
As some might notice (seriously doubt it.) I'm new to this forum.

So to get things started!
I have a Mustang II '78 with the factory V8 5.0L 302 (it was sold like so here in Mexico)
And for the past months i've begun a restoration project
-recently droped the the automatic tranny (which was not even for a mustang....some past owner forced it) For which I already have the original 4 speed manual tranny; but that is not the topic for the moment.

My concern is the fact that I am planning to remove the engine for a cleaning (and replacement of some pieces).
So here's the questions:
1-is the disarming/rebuilding process as simple as books/ videos claim it is
2- how much should I consider doing a short/long block fix (or w/e its called )

Thank you for your time and if theres anything I can help you with; let me know!

Re: Hello FM!

Thank you!
One last question: i want to build a stand in which to put the engine while dismantling.... what are the "correct" places in which i can support the engine? (or should i have the stand have car-like engine support?)

Re: Hello FM!

By an "Engine Stand" dude....

They're like $69 bucks, and then you take out the engine and put the whole thing on the stand and then take it apart

Re: Hello FM!

Well since there's car's in Mexico, I'd assume (probably correctly) that Parts stores down there will carry these things... Even rent them.

What part of Mexico? I may have neighbors from there that I can ask.

Re: Hello FM!

Oops, I see it Monterrey Mexico...

Dang man, that's 3.8 Million people within a 15 square mile area.

There shouldn't be much that you will need to have shipped in to you.
