Mass Air conversion problems!!

Let me start from the begining...I had a perfectly running Speed density car, then I converted. Now I have a running car that idles like crap and sounds like it's running on 4 cylinders when I go full throttle. I converted using a pro-m77 mass air calibrated to 30 pound injectors. I changed the injectors to 30 pounders. That could be my idle problem, seems like I'm missing on a cylinder at idle. Full throttle though, Unbelievable. It sounds like a pro drag car at the line on half ignition. I actually slow down at full throttle. There's a slight hesitation when I press the gas also. Maybe a half a second hesitation.
Another thing I found odd, if you unplug the Mass Air Sensor, the car should stall, correct? Well, mine didn't. It ran the same, which makes me think something is hooked up wrong, or I wasted my time. Please help????

Mass Air conversion problems!!

My son and I converted his 88 from speed density to mass air using 24# injectors and had no problem once we switched back to the factor air box from the K&N cone filter. The fan caused some much turbulence that the mass air could not read properly causing the engine to run horribly. Once we put the stock box back on it ran great. I should also tell you we installed a new EEC at the same time; that could be causing you a problem.

I know, it's kind of an old post, but I figured I'd chime in.

Are you 100% positive the firing order is right for your motor? Some of the 5.0 engines had the old 1-5 order, and most of the MAF conversions I've seen are designed around the newer 1-3-7 firing order.

Try disconnecting the battery for a while, then reconnecting it. Might let the system "learn" again. Have you pulled any codes?
