rear end??

hey my name is kyle, i am 18 with a 92 lx 5.0, my dad and i were looking into rebuilding the rear end of my car with the choosen gear of a 3:55, we wanted to buy a new rear end as this is my daily driver so that while we were rebuilding it we could still drive the car, ive heard about couger rearends being used on mustangs and had a buddy that happens to have on lieying around, does anyone out there know if this is compatible and if so is it a direct bolt in unit or does anything need to be modified to fit, thanks guys

rear end??

You need to take measurements and see how close it is. Likely to be wider by 1.5" at least. Bolting in an existing rear is much easier than setting up new gears and that's how I just did a change in my pickup. Just went to the junkyard and asked for same rear with 3.73 in it. I pick it up an hour later, and had it installed in my truck 2 days later. Then all I had to do was order the speedo gear for the tranny so my speedo read right and I was done... very simple and cheap. I paid 150 for the whole rear!! Good luck with it.
