351c into 90 gt or lx fit or no fit

Friend of mine is in the process of doing a 4V cleveland into a '78 Fairmont, which is same front suspension/engine compartment as a Mustang. Pretty easy swap. He used regular 5.0 engine mounts and an oil pan from a early 80's 4x4 pickup that had a 351m or 400. Then he had to bend over & buy the 351c swap headers.....he got his from K(r)ooks, but I'm sure others have them as well. That was about it as far as the swap goes.

That said, it's not up & running yet. Money problems keep him from finishing it up. We've already got the 9" under it (yes...that too is the same setup as a Mustang), a Currie housing that just bolts in. We would have used the 8.8, but the ones from a Mustang or other FOX car are considered rare/expensive in these parts. Best one we could find, guy wanted $400 for it....and it was junk. The only thing worth anything was the housing itself, and even it was questionable as the car was hit hard in the rear. The C6 fits, but IMO, a C4 is a better alternative. Lighter, smaller, takes a LOT less HP to run it. Your headers may/may not fit with the C6. My friend is using a T5. Headers clear easily.

D&D has everything from pans, mounts...everything. Might just be worth the $$$ to get it all at once.

It's easier than you'd think.
