EGR? How do I remove it?

I live in Michigan , so emissions testing is notta! The previous owner of the car butchered the emisions system and MOST has been removed. (smog pump, canister, that hose along side the passanger header, cats, etc) I have a Explorer intake (without EGR) that I plan to swap on when the weather breaks, (car is put away) Is there any info out there on removing the EGR from my system, like blocking it off at the throttle body? With what is left on the car, it seems a waste to hook it up. Or should I pick up a older Explorer upper that has the EGR holes and run it like it is. My preferance is to remove whats left of the system. I 'll be swapping on a refreshed set of GT-40(not P) cast heads with this intake.

You can physically remove it and block it off, but without disabling it in the computer you will still get malfunction codes and a check engine light. The computer may also as a result reduce timing, fuel, etc thinking there is a problem.

Would a piggy back computer help with timing, fuel, etc. or disable it? With whats aready removed would I be getting or having these problems? It seems to run strong, Not unlike the many other simular vintage Mustangs that I have owned.
