whats the difference in the fox body mustang

i know the body style changes from about 86 to 87 are there any chassis changes man i don't know a darn thing
any help is greatly appreciated

no significant chassis changes; the 87 had bigger brakes and different front suspension geometry. biggest change, besides exterior and interior styling, is the engine. While both were EFI, the 87 was up to 225 HP due to better heads.

84 had a slight tweak of the rear suspension pickup points to lessen wheelhop and axle windup. 85 5spd had forged pistons and roller cam. 86 was the first year for the 10.5" clutch and SEFI, both auto 5spd used roller cams, had FT pistons(limits cam lift), 87 had the obvious aero changes, 11" front discs, better heads and pistons with valve reliefs for more cam clearance.

'86 has flat top pistons, only year without valve pockets in the tops of pistons which makes it harder to do head swap or cam swap. Heads and upper intake were supposed to be more restrictive than later years. '87 has better cam.

91- 93 fox stangs have slightly larger wheel wells account the switch to 16 in wheel/tires

A slight geometry change in the front suspension too in 91...cant remember exactly what it was. I bought a 90 brand new and my bro had a new 91

They are basically a Ford Fairmont from '79' to '04'. Minor changes to front and rear suspension and body.

And then there was the SVO...4 years (84, 85, 85.5, 86). They were a little different...
