is the explorer intake manifold a good swap for an 87 mustang? thanks

Yes, Look at in the Tech Deptment for the Holley head/Explorer intake swap. If the Tubular GT-40 is a great intake swap then the Explorer ain't far behind. I'm tooling up to do the same along with a set of GT-40 cast heads.

Also, I should point out that unless you make the switch to a mass air system, the add on's like the intake and others won't be as great.

not really true....u can do heads, intake, larger TB, cold air, full exhaust and a mild cam, or stock cam with 1.7 roller rockers, or a wet nitrous or dry nitrous setup with 24lb injectors with a speed density car and you WILL be ok!!


switch to a mass air setup if you want to use a "larger" cam or if your going with forced induction, OR if u want to squeeze out a little more from the above list of add ons!

intake manifold

I have the explorer intake on my 5.0 H.O. in my 88 T-Bird.I could feel the difference.I have Gt40 heads on the work bench.Can't wait !!!
