87 alternator in a 67 mustang?

I am helping a friend install an 87 5.0 into a 67 fastback and the new engine is complete with a fairly new alternator. The alternator has three wires and a ground . One large terminal on the back and two coming out of a plug on the side.Does any body know where these wires should go?

It looks like they hooked the original wires up but I dont think an 87 uses an external voltage regulator. The way its hooked up now it charges ok but all the lights inside and outside flicker really fast when the car is running

It is internally regulated.
