87 GT - $1800 for 46k miles.. buy or not?

Amazing car. Should i get it? The only problem is some extremely slight cracking in the leather.. and it is an auto

How much would it cost to get it redone to manual?

Thanks!

Are you positive it's 46,000 original miles?

About $1000-2000 to convert to manual, depends on your parts source.

positive. it was the original owner's mother's car (my best friend's stepmom) Her mom died suddenly, and she had kept it in perfect condition. I've ridden in the car. It's fast.

Are you sure it'll only be that much to convert? What about labour? I'm no genius!

I'm hoping to get this and convert my car to a dragger at the Mooresville strip.

That price was based on used parts and your own labor. A new T5 would cost $1250 by itself all other parts can be had used; bell housing=$50-$100, FW=$50-$100, clutch pedal=$50-$100, quality shifter=$100-$150, clutch and pressure plate(New)=$225-$500, adj clutch cable and quadrant(New)=$75-$125.

Battery would be OK but would be best in the rear for weight distribution. Mounts, oil pan and headers are readily available for this swap so not much fabrication is required.

Keep it as an auto until you're comfortable enough to swap it out.
