3.8l v-6 slowly lost power and died

i got an 83 v6 and driving and i started losing power then it just quit no water in the oil i'm thinking distributor. but not real sure. any thoughts

I's look for fuel starvation first... clogged filter or blocked tank vent. Loosen the fuel fill cap and see if there is a vacuum in the tank. If so, that's it. Start with the simple first.

Does it start? Run? Sounds to me like the Alt quit charging and you ran the battery dead.

Like already said, very first thing is to verify fuel and spark.
