swap a 4cyl for a 5.0

hey guys im thinking on buying a 1992 mustang but its 4cylinder automatic, the car is mint condition parked in this ild guy garage for the last 5 years.. how hard is it to swap out the 4 banger for a 302, and can the automatic tranny thats already there bolt on the same .. id prefer standard but im working with a tight budget. hope someone could help me out.

swap a 4cyl for a 5.0

It's an easy swap but you need 5.0 wiring and transmission. The four banger Auto will not work. Also you will need a Drive shaft as the auto four uses a differert shaft then other fox mustangs.

With gas being high, I'd leave the 2.3 in there. They're almost bulletproof...almost.


Want power and economy? Get a turbocoupe engine/harness and DROP it in. They'll make 300 HP EASILY.

Mavman,
that would be a good idea " IF " he didn't have that A4LD trashmission init. They won't hold up to 100HP much less 300HP.
