Largest Tire/Wheel Combination

I have a 93 Mustang Coupe that utilizes a Full Maximum Motorsports Suspension with Coil-Overs. I am currently using 17 x 9 Cobra Rs with 245 x 45 x 17 tires. I am told that I can use 275 x 40 x 17 tires without contact to the coil-overs. However, I would like to utilize the Y2k 18" Cobra R wheels and use a racing tire for open track events.

Anyone have insight as to what is the largest tire I could use without contacting the coil over springs?

I run 18" Saleen replica's on my '92 coupe with 275/35/18's on the back and 235/40/18's on the front. When I replace the front, I will be using 255/40/18's on the front.

Nice Coupe. Thanks for the reply. I have to be real careful on my coupe to clear the coil over shocks. I think 18" rims will actually work better for me than the 17s. Thanks again.

Thanks! I did remove my quad shocks back when I put on some welds with ET Streets. Not sure if that would have made a difference.
