400 in a notchback

The car currently has a 4 cylinder in it. Planning to put a 400 in it, possble? If so, how much work will be involved?

why a 400? a 460 probaly wieghs less than it does. those were torque makers, not power providers. top rpms were usually like 4000-4500

4x4 pan, cu$tom headers, C6 (or your favorite standard trans), or a C4 with the BBF bellhousing. It'll be tight, but it'll go in there.

It's almost as wide as a 460. About an inch or so shorter. About 100 lbs lighter too. They don't make swap kits for a 400 in a FOX, at least I've never seen one. I used to know a guy that had a nice running 400 in a '82 I believe...guy was killed in a crotch rocket accident and the car ended up in who knows where. I do know that it had 4V heads that were ported...and ran some 6.60's in the 1/8. It ran well....and people got a weird look on their face when they were told that it was a "400".
